Healing Hands

My professional life affords me the opportunity to do what I enjoy doing, photography. In my professional life, I am a surgical technician. I assist surgeons with surgery. I currently work for an Orthopedic Surgeon and am having great fun doing it. It is this work which allows me to spend time behind the camera when I can. O.K. basically, I work to support my photo habit. "hi my name is Nic and I am a photographer", "Hi Nic".

I just happen to bring my camera to work one evening, we had a surgery cancel after all the supplies were opened and laid out. We can not use the supplies once they have been opened for any other patient, so before we threw them away, I grabbed my friends, Patrick Flemming, RN and another surgical technician, Brenda Plouse, and set up these shots.

The U.S. Capitol is the hotbed of democracy, the very center of a well respected, much adored way of life.
According to Wikianswers.com, 15 million people visit Washington D.C. each year. Some come to see the museums, some to walk the "hollow grounds" of democracy, (o.k. so I made that up), most take the tour of the capitol which welcomes all to get a glimpse of the inner workings of our government.

Apparently democracy was closed that day.

Twins

Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is a park in the middle of the city. Once a private place, the owners willed it to the city with the stipulation that this park remain free to the public.

Hiking, biking and rock climbing are in abundance and as accessible as a walk in the park.

Truth in a Fortune Cookie?

I don't believe that there is one person in America that has not opened a fortune cookie without silently hoping that their fortune would come true.

Well if you haven't had a good Chinese dinner in a while, this is my fortune for you.

I'll have an Angry Raven Merlot

Everyone should have their own wine. For me it was as easy as photoshop. I took a picture of a grip of corks from various wines a friend of ours had and added in my business logo and some text to fit the picture.

When was lunch???

Walking around Madagascar, I found an advertisement for the Croc farm. Intrigued, I hired a car and next thing I knew, I was in the middle of an A$$ load of Croc's standing on a stump wondering how the heck I got there and when was the last meal.
OK the real story...
I arrived at the Croc farm, walked around a bit, saw animals that I never knew existed, like the Fusa, an actual animal who eats lemurs. I was watching the Croc guy feed this huge pin of Croc's and calmly asked "how do I get to that stump to take the picture, the stump was about 5 feet above them and about 100 yards from where I was. He responded just a calmly, "run real fast". After he was finished feeding them, he guided me through the tangled mix of tails and fully fed mouths and waited behind me until I was finished with the picture. Definitely worth the 20 dollar tip I gave him for the experience.

Cadallac Ranch

Only in the great country of Texas will you find a person to bury Cadillac's and turn them into a tourists "must see". The Cadillac Ranch is located in Amarillo TX., and it is a must see.
