Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is a park in the middle of the city. Once a private place, the owners willed it to the city with the stipulation that this park remain free to the public.
Hiking, biking and rock climbing are in abundance and as accessible as a walk in the park.

Truth in a Fortune Cookie?
I'll have an Angry Raven Merlot
When was lunch???
Walking around Madagascar, I found an advertisement for the Croc farm. Intrigued, I hired a car and next thing I knew, I was in the middle of an A$$ load of Croc's standing on a stump wondering how the heck I got there and when was the last meal.
OK the real story...
I arrived at the Croc farm, walked around a bit, saw animals that I never knew existed, like the Fusa, an actual animal who eats lemurs. I was watching the Croc guy feed this huge pin of Croc's and calmly asked "how do I get to that stump to take the picture, the stump was about 5 feet above them and about 100 yards from where I was. He responded just a calmly, "run real fast". After he was finished feeding them, he guided me through the tangled mix of tails and fully fed mouths and waited behind me until I was finished with the picture. Definitely worth the 20 dollar tip I gave him for the experience.

Holly Weird!!!
Only in Hollywood, CA. would you find characters such as Catwoman and Stewie walking around the street and people pass them without notice.
On my last trip to Hollywood, I spent the day around the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater. people were stepping in the footprints and placing their hands in the hand prints of their idols, all the while, costumed characters roamed the street, willing to pose for a picture for a "donation".
Interesting place
Things we do for love
Charrrrrrggggggeeeeeee it
Elephants are by far the greatest animals on earth. This picture was taken in the Masai Mara National Preserve in Kenya. After a few shots, our driver, Harrison, said "we have to go" and pushed the peddle to the metal, after everyone I was with finished laughing at me during my vehicle assisted falling to the floor, Harrison said "sorry, but the elephant was charging"
The things we do to get the pic.
we have so much fun
I was fortunate to spend some time with the 1-294th Infantry (L) from Guam Army National Guard, probably some of the most dedicated, fun loving guys ever. we were in Djibouti, (a country in Africa), and they were conducting fast rope training, you slide down a rope 70 feet from the ground with no safety nets, the ultimate fun. The crazy guy on the right that is videotaping the event is my friend John Nonog, the idiot photographing people coming out of the CH53, Heavy Marine Helicopter, was me.
It was a great day, the only thing that could have made it better would have been dancing girls and beer.
I miss those days.
No Pictures Please
During my last visit to D.C. there was a Combat Camera exhibit at Arlington National Cemetery, that I had the honor of attending.
The images of war from journalists in the field, "Combat Camera" were captivating and emotion filled. Some of the images came from Combat Camera photographers that I know and knew of. It is fitting on this Memorial Day, that I share with you the very footprints that I, and all of our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Cost Guardsmen walk in each day. For this day is not about recognizing those who currently serve in the military, it is about those who came before.
"It is the love of country that has lighted and that keeps glowing the holy fire of patriotism." ~J. Horace McFarland
ECO Friendly Food
In a town with all the window dressings, Washington, D.C., where there is every restaurant imaginable, people on the go still search for the fastest food available.
On the Fly is a mobile Eco-friendly food catering truck. For those of us that are familiar with the term, a "roach coach". The trailer is pulled by an electric golf cart, on steroids, and is parked on nearly every busy corner of D.C.
